In 2017, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will again reward the top fundraising dancer of the UP 4 THE FIGHT Dance Marathon program with a trip to see his/her dollars hard at work at one of EGPAF’s more than 4,500 sites in Sub-Saharan Africa ! 2017 Dance Marathon Fundraising Incentive Program
Specifically, Top Fundraiser Competition – Trip to Africa
Terms & Conditions
Entering the Competition
 
1. The UP 4 THE FIGHT DANCE MARATHON TRIP COMPETITION (the “Competition”) is open to a valid participant of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (“EGPAF”)’s UP 4 THE FIGHT Dance Marathon program 2016-2017 ages 18-24. You must be a valid participant and current collegiate student of EGPAF’s program 2016-2017 in order to be eligible to obtain the benefit of the prize.

2. The Competition is not open to EGPAF employees, its group companies or family members, freelance contributors to EGPAF, or anyone else connected to the Competition, including previous winners of the Top Fundraising trip.

3. Entrants into the Competition shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.

4. To enter the Competition, you must sign up through EGPAF’s site (www.up4thefight.org) and participate as a dancer at UP 4 THE FIGHT Dance Marathon events limited to: Baldwin Wallace University, College of the Holy Cross, UC Berkeley, and UCLA. If you have any questions about how to enter or otherwise in connection with the Competition, please email us at up4thefight@pedaids.org with “Dance Marathon Trip Competition” in the subject line.

5. Only one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. Entries on behalf of teams will not be accepted. All donations must be made specifically to the fundraiser, and no gifts with the intention of being donated to another or the group at large shall be re-allocated to create a winner. The winner shall be the singular owner of the personal fundraising page matching the guidelines set forth in paragraphs 11 and 12.

6. EGPAF accepts no responsibility for personal fundraising profiles that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason.

7. The Competition opens at 12:00PM EST on Monday September 5, 2016 and closes at 11:59PM EST on Sunday April 30, 2017. Funds raised received outside this time period will not be considered. EGPAF reserves the right in its absolute discretion to extend the closing date where the entries received are of insufficient quality or in need of a tie breaker.

a. Participants in the Competition are allowed to continue to fundraise past their respective Dance Marathon events until the deadline closing date listed in the Terms and Conditions.

8. By submitting an entry to the Competition, you agree to sign and adhere to EGPAF’s photo release waiver hereto incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by reference.

9. Entrants confirm that each individual whose image and personal page is featured in the Competition entry has given consent for the use of his/her image in connection with this Competition and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Where an individual whose image is featured in a Competition entry is aged less than 18 years the entrant confirms that the parent or guardian of that individual has given the relevant consent.

10. We may disqualify your Competition entry for the following reasons: your entry does not comply with these Terms and Conditions; you have not obtained the consents detailed in paragraphs above; your organization or school has for any reason fallen into disrepute in the reasonable opinion of EGPAF; you are not eligible to enter the Competition; or you cannot be contacted. In the event of disqualification, we may select a new winner in accordance with the selection processes outlined below.

Picking the winners
11. The top fundraiser among all Dance Marathon fundraising programs listed in paragraph 4 (raising a minimum of $4,000.00) will be tracked through the host system (www.up4thefight.org) and determined at the deadline date listed in the Terms and Conditions.

12. EGPAF will notify the winning participant between Monday May 1, 2017 and Monday, May 15, 2017. EGPAF’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Prize
The top fundraiser for the UP 4 THE FIGHT DANCE MARATHON TRIP COMPETITION receives a complimentary visit for  1 adult in June/July 2017 with EGPAF staff member(s) in an African country of EGPAF’s presence. Country to be determined according to the U.S. Department of State’s Travel Warnings and Alerts system and EGPAF in-country availability.

The prize includes flights from Washington, DC, to destination country, travel medical insurance up to $50.00, hotel accommodation, select meals, vehicle transportation, EGPAF guide and chaperone; visit to EGPAF supported sites and meetings with country staff, and may include volunteer and/or interactive project, and tourism activity in destination country.  All travel while in Africa is provided by EGPAF. EGPAF accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize that are not expressly included in the prize.

13. The winner will be required to be responsible for the following:
a. US Passport validity, expiring no earlier than February 2018.
b. Necessary medical immunizations set forth by EGPAF guidelines and the U.S. Department of State’s Travel Warnings and Alerts system.
c. Transportation to and from home airport.
d. Completion of an experience blog to be presented through either emails from www.pedaids.org, www.up4thefight.org, Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook as detailed to them by EGPAF.
e. Compliance with guidelines, cultural sensitivity, and rules set forth by EGPAF when in country.

14. The winner will be notified by email on or after Monday May 1, 2016 and given details of how to accept their prize. If a winner does not respond to EGPAF within 7 days of being notified of their win, the winner’s prize will be forfeited and EGPAF shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the fundraising hierarchy process described above (and that winner will have to respond to notification of their win within 7 days or else they will also forfeit their prize). If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these terms, the winner’s prize will be forfeited and EGPAF shall be entitled to select another winner.

15. The name of the winner, in addition to their winning entry, will be published on www.pedaids.org and EGPAF social media channels on or before Wednesday May 24, 2016 and such information shall remain available until Sunday December 31, 2017.

16. Winner must consent to travel dates set forth by EGPAF through Monday July 31, 2017.

17. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash or any other prize.

18. EGPAF reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative prize of similar value in the event that the original prize offered is not available.

Additional Rules
19. The winner may be required to take part in promotional activity related to the Competition and the winner shall participate in such activity on the EGPAF’s reasonable request. The winner consents to the use by EGPAF and its related sites, both before and after the closing date of the Competition for an unlimited time, of the winner’s voice, image, photograph and name for publicity purposes (in any medium, including still photographs and films, and on the internet, including any websites hosted by EGPAF and its related companies) and in advertising, marketing or promotional material without additional compensation or prior notice and, in entering the Competition, all entrants consent to the same.

20. EGPAF shall use and take care of any personal information you supply to it as described in its privacy policy, a copy of which can be seen at http://www.pedaids.org/pages/privacy-policy, and in accordance with data protection legislation. By entering the Competition, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your Competition entry, and for the purposes outlined in paragraphs above.

21. EGPAF accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury, death or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Competition or accepting the prize. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude the liability of EGPAF under law for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence.

22. EGPAF reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its reasonable control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). EGPAF reserves the right with or without cause to exclude or disqualify entrants for breach of these terms and conditions. The decision of EGPAF in all matters relating to the Competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

23. EGPAF shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations relating to this Competition where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.

24. The Competition and these Terms and Conditions will be governed by United States government law and entrants to the Competition submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the US courts.
